This product is a surface-mounted sliding bolt with a keep that receives the bolt. It is normally operated from the inside and adds a holding point while the premises are occupied; it is not a cylinder and does not replace the main lock. The door leaf, frame, screws and position must withstand the load. On escape doors, accommodation and public premises, fitting must not obstruct evacuation or conflict with fire-safety requirements.
