A multipoint lock uses one central mechanism to operate several locking points along the door leaf. It is not universal: manufacturer, faceplate dimensions, centres, backset, handle height, opening direction and locking-point type must be checked before ordering. Replacing it with a different model may require adaptation and should only proceed after assessing the door and frame.
